Centre for Future Transport and Cities looks at major disruption in the transport sector due to the imminent arrival of future technology such as connected and automated mobility. As a result of this, the way in which people, goods and services move is changing dramatically and we are guiding that change. You will be working in the Design Ergonomics and Human Factors group who look at current state of change within the mobility industry as a great opportunity to ensure that transport solutions of the future are better equipped to serve the needs of a diverse population. 

Understand current legislation, certification, and identify policy gaps to improve the implementation of logistics drone operations, to be presented as a Roadmap for Coventry. Work Package Requirements:

1. Deliver a report outlining current gaps in legislation and certification for operating drones commercially. This would include policy gaps and local infrastructure limitations for integrating drones in logistics operations.

2. Deliver a plan for the roadmap to the local integration of Drones into logistics operations, taking into account local authority jurisdiction in licencing commercial operation of Drones.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a talented student, who is passionate about the use of Drones in parcel delivery and the impact this has on supply chain and logistics operations. The aim is to assist in the development of a Roadmap that provides a set of strategies with a local focus and policy recommendations for integrating and implementing drones commercially.
